A structured self-assessment your institution completes about itself — across the NSPM-33 elements, RST tracking readiness, Common Forms and ORCID rollout, disclosure verification practice, and evidence and audit posture. Roughly twenty questions, scored against a rubric, producing a maturity summary with recommendations.
What the assessment covers
- NSPM-33 program elements — cybersecurity, foreign travel security, research security training, export control training. Current-state maturity per element.
- Disclosure verification practice — collection vs. reconciliation, exception workflow, review capacity.
- Training compliance — RST completion tracking against the 12-month window sponsors now enforce.
- Common Forms / ORCID rollout — SciENcv adoption, ORCID-to-eRA-Commons linkage, personal certification practice.
- Evidence and audit posture — retrievability of certification evidence, immutability, snapshot completeness.
- Governance — named research security lead, working group cadence, escalation.
What it produces
A short maturity summary — where the institution sits on each dimension — with recommendations prioritized by the operational risk they address. Delivered as a PDF to the requester's institutional email.
What the assessment is explicitly not
The assessment is a self-review of your institution's own program. It is not a lookup of any named researcher; it does not collect or process personal data about third parties. This is a deliberate choice — the alternative would have created liability, ethical, and IP-exposure risks the platform is not designed to carry, and would have violated our stated posture. Verification, not surveillance.
